5 Can’t Miss Movies and TV Shows – Week of April 15th

Here on Binge Sequence we will be giving a weekly updated list of titles that should be prioritized. A top 5 of sorts. The purpose of the list is to steer each other in the right direction.

Week of April 15th – What to Watch:

The Twilight Zone

With the talented Jordan Peele in the driver’s seat for the series reboot, the new Twilight Zone has taken a daring change in tone akin to the Black Mirror series. The messages behind the madness are marvelous and the show runners have spared no expense when it comes to the casting. To dip your toes in, check out the pilot starring comedians Kumail Nanjiani and Tracy Morgan. It is available for viewing on YouTube, while the rest of the series can be found on the CBS All Access streaming service.

The Act

Despite Netflix’s strong grasp of the television game, Hulu has been placing more effort and emphasis on their original programming. The Act is one of their newest and most promising projects. It follows the true and tragic story of convicted murderer Gypsy Rose Blanchard, a young girl whose mother put her through physical and mental torture for most of her childhood. The main roles are expertly played with The Conjuring star Joey King disappearing into her role as the troubled young girl. Patricia Arquette takes on the character of the child’s manipulative mother in this truly disturbing series.

Shazam!

The number one movie in the world is Zachary Levi’s Shazam! The film is worthy of its huge acclaim raking in over 40 million dollars its opening weekend. The film is truly fun for the whole family whether you seek some lighthearted hero action or deep character driven stories. The best DC superhero film since Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy.

Us

Award winning director Jordan Peele’s second social horror Us is truly a magnificent blend of slasher and social awareness. Take a journey into a look at the have and have-nots. What has the U.S. done to us?

Captain Marvel

Despite the divisiveness of the film, one thing is for certain. Captain Marvel had fans talking for weeks. The film is a collision of cosmic adventure and 90’s nostalgia. Make sure you check it out before the final showdown with Thanos.
