Week of August 20th – What to Watch:

The second season of Netflix’s original series is now up for streaming. Mindhunter follows FBI agents Ford and Tench as they solve serial murder cases. They even get to do some psycho-analysis while interviewing some of the nastiest and most deranged individuals you can think of.

Jim Gaffigan: Quality Time

As Amazon continues to dip its toes into the comedy pool, they just just released the next stand up special from comedian and actor Jim Gaffigan. Gaffigan’s comedy has stood the test of time since his rise to the top and continues to delivers a product full of fatherhood anecdotes, eating shame and “the inside voice.” The special is now available to stream on Prime Video.

This Sunday marks the premiere of the sixth and final season of Showtime’s Power. The New York City crime drama features the likes of Naturi Naughton, Omari Hardwick and executive producer 50 Cent. The show will come to a close, being one of Showtime’s biggest series to date. The last season premieres August 25th.

On Becoming A God In Central Florida

Aside from marking the resurgence of Kirsten Dunst, this Showtime original series carries all of the marks of a rugged and dark underdog tale of climbing the latter. Much like Breaking Bad or Weeds, the story of a less than outstanding lead clawing their way to significance through some unethical activity looks to be on the docket. The show premieres this Sunday on August 25th.

The Affair

Rounding out Showtime’s big premiere weekend is the arrival of the fifth season of The Affair. This Ruth Wilson and Dominic West led series also returns this Sunday and is sure to throw even more curve balls and excitement in the lives of Noah and Allison. Tune in August 25th to catch the new season.
